Scotland’s Honeyblood opened for We Were Promised Jetpacks at The Sinclair in Cambridge last night (full review coming later). The duo comprising Stina Tweeddale on vocals and guitar, and Shona McViccar on drums filled the room with heavily distorted riffs. They performed “Kissing On You,” which is quite the earworm. Despite Tweeddale’s and McViccar’s spatial distance on the stage (to make room for the main band’s equipment, of course), they had a cohesive and full sound.
Honeyblood’s debut LP, recorded with Peter Katis in Connecticut, is due out in May — it will likely be worth checking out. Katis has produced the likes of Augustines, The National and Frightened Rabbit.
